Janaboli/23 Feb, Kathmand. An unidentified boy hurled acids on two teenage girls in Basantapur of the Capital on Sunday morning.Sangita Magar (16) from Khaniyapani of Ramechhap and Sima Basnet (15) from Rautahat were attacked at around 6:15 am today, Metropolitan Police Circle, Janasewa said.Police said the masked boy (approximately 17) fled the scene after the attack.
The girls were at a local tuition centre while they were attacked.
Along with another friend, the duo were waiting for their tutor, Police Inspector Hari Basnet told THT Online.
They were preparing for the SLC examinations scheduled for next month.
Basnet said Magar sustained injuries on her chest and a leg whereas Basnet's face has been disfigured due to the attack.
The victims were rushed to the Bir Hospital, which later referred Basnet to Sinamangal-based KMC Teaching Hospital.
Police said further investigation is underway.
